Introduction:
URL
Helper is a powerful application which was
designed to help find url references which
are trying to hide from you.
This application was written
primarily to aid users of the Hidownload,
which is a program that can record streaming
audio and video files.To use Hidownload and
similar programs, you need to know the url(the
file name and server address) of stream you
want to record.
Unfortunately, some links to streaming audio
and video that you come across on the web
are hidden behind javascript or activex scripts.
Because of this, it is sometimes very difficult
to figure out the actual urls that correspond
to the streams being played.
There are various tricks
that can allow you to find these urls, the
most common being to look for a temporary
file created by the browser which contains
the rul address,but this does not always work.
The goal of URL Helper is to provide a one-step
solution to finding the URLs for all streams.
It does this by searching files and watching
network traffic and identifying potential
urls.
This version we improved
help for selecting the right network adapter
and support for new Wincap library v3.1
and later, which should provide better Windows
XP support(http://winpcap.polito.it/).
